CERTIFICATIONS
International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC)
The IAABC requires applicants to:
Conduct and submit two case studies.
Have a letter of recommendation from a client.
Have a letter of recommendation from a collegue.
Have a letter of recommendation from a veterinarian.
Take exam including questions on the principals of dog training and learning theory.
Require 36 hours of continuing education every 3 years.
ABC's courses listed above include:
A thorough understanding of dog grooming tools.
Nail trimming, ear cleaning, eye care, removal of eye stains, cleaning wrinkles and dental care.
Education of recognizing visible health issues in an animals.
Breed-specific cuts such as the Poodle, Shih-tzu, Yorkshire Terrier and Schnauzer.
Able to react calmly and safely in the event of an emergency.
Mentoring future trainers, ensuring verbal and demonstrative mastery of basic obedience commands.
3 letters of recommendation from a colleague, client, and veterinarian.
Passing 400 question test on business, learning theory, teaching, and animal behavior with an 86%.
Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT)
The CCPDT requires certificants to:
Have a minimum of 300 hours of dog training experience.
Have a letter of recommendation from a veterinarian.
Pass a 250 question examination on instruction, learning skills, ethology, equipment, and animal husbandy. Test is produced by top trainers in the industry.
Require 36 hours of continuing education every 3 years.
Signed code of ethics.

Therapy Dogs International(TDI) Evaluator, Volunteer, & Director of Chapter #305
Therapy Dogs International requires applicants to have:
Volunteer service with a certified dog for a minimum of one year.
Three letters of recommendation.
Submission of a resume'.
CPR & FIRST AID
Pet Tech -- CPR, First Aid, & Care Instructor
-- 30 hours on instructing & teaching pet CPR, First Aid, and Care for Pets

40 hours of coursework on Advanced Training and Testing of Allergen Alert Dogs

Satisfactory completion of a quiz after each module before moving onto the next.
Completion of level 1, level 2, groomer, and animal trainer courses
